FREQUENTLY ASKED

 questions

Where does your name come from?

Founders, Lorean and Billy loved the idea of a fun environment that was filled with a trend innovation, community vibe, group chat, and immediate warmth that hits you when you walk in (also beer and wine never hurts). Something of a British pub – meets upscale salon. The name is taken in homage to famous pubs named after local fables – such as London’s the Crown and the Thorn or The Lamb and Flag.

Who answers my phone calls?

Have you ever noticed that while you are getting your hair done at Fox & Jane there is something missing from the average salon experience? The sound of a ringing phone! In effort to keep our spaces creative, fun filled, and upbeat beauty laboratories, we have created a booking center that is purely dedicated to scheduling your next service. Our wonderful team of client coordinators is here to answer any question you may have in regards to your hair. They can happily assist you in finding a stylist who matches your hair needs and desired look or book you with a stylist whom you have previously selected.

Why did your receptionist ask for my credit card information?

I’m glad you asked! While many of our guests are deeply respectful of our time it is unfortunate that there are some whom do not respect the appointment process. At Fox & Jane we are deeply fortunate to serve many guests, some of which wait several weeks for an appointment. We do kindly ask to reserve a credit card for all services over one hour or $100 dollars to protect the valuable time of our team, making sure that our spaces are reserved for serious parties only. Credit Card Security – Credit Card Storage, Reservations and Merchant Processing: Our booking system is proud to be Level 1 PCI compliant–the highest form of credit card security in the industry–which means that we encrypt all customer credit card data stored in our system. When a customers’ credit card is charged or added to your account, you’ll only see the last four digits of the card number. The Second Platform is Integrity Payment Systems. The great thing about working with a top notch credit card processor such as Integrity is that they require PCI DSS compliance as well as hard wired (non-wifi) servers. In short, Fox & Jane is PC1 DSS complaint.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for all cancellation to be made 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment time. If a cancellation is not made within the specified time frame, we will charge the card on file for 50% of your scheduled appointment.

What is your redo policy?

We understand that from time to time a customer may want an adjustment on their service. We happily bring back our guests to correct our services within 2 weeks of their visit. It is always encouraged that unhappy guest return to their original stylist. If for some reason someone is not comfortable working with their original stylist, we will re-book them for a redo with another technician. At Fox & Jane we stand behind our work, don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.

If you have any questions, your technician will guide you to your best match at your visit.

Alfaparf, Redken, Scruples, Pravanna, R+Co, Evo Hair, Pulpriot, Olaplex, Kgloss Keratin and Nano Keratin

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, gift cards and certificates.  Checks cannot be accepted.  We always request cash tips where possible and greatly appreciate.

How long to wait between color and Keratin?

It’s important to know that all Keratin treatments DO slightly lighten artificial hair color.  For this reason we do recommend waiting 2 weeks between your color visit and Keratin service.  You may want to book a refresher gloss after a keratin treatment to keep your color on point.

When to get half head vs full head?

We always recommend first time customers looking for highlights book for a full head coloring service (highlight or double process).  Most color on our Instagram as well as many of the modern looks we are seeing requested today do start with a full head color application.  It is not common for guests to need half head services on their first visit.  Once you come in and work with our color experts, they will let you know what to book at your next visit to keep your hair aligned with your goals.

How will a Keratin Smoothing Treatment effect my hair?

At Fox & Jane, we have chosen Keratin Treatments that are chemically minimal and therefor the result may be different than other treatments on the market.   Both our Nano Keratin and KGloss options work to reduce drying time by 50%, add shine and gently soften or silken natural curl.

Our Keratin treatments DO NOT straighten or relax curls.  Some hair types will feel “tangled” after a keratin has been applied. This

may last for the first few shampoos after a Keratin treatment. A good application of conditioner should alleviate this.  It is important to use recommended sulfate free products for each shampoo/condition after application to ensure lasting results.  Hair will return to normal over 2-3 months and curl, frizz and natural texture will slowly return as the treatment dissipates.
